Using Your Helix Presets

Q: How do I install the Helix presets?

  1. Unzip the downloaded preset file.

  2. Open the Helix Editor on your computer.

  3. Drag and drop the .hlx file into the editor.

  4. Save the preset to your desired slot on your Helix device.

 

Q: Do I need any special software to load these presets?

A: Yes, you’ll need the Helix Editor, which is available for free from Line 6’s official website.

 

Q: Will these presets work with HX Stomp or Helix Native?

  • All of the Dialed In Amp Series and bass presets are fully compatible with HX Stomp.

  • The artist-inspired presets are designed for Helix Floor, Helix LT, and Helix Native, but they may also work with HX Stomp with some adjustments to blocks and routing.

 

Q: What Helix devices are fully supported?

A: All presets are fully supported on Helix Floor, Helix LT, and Helix Native.

 

Q: What if the presets don’t sound right?

  • Ensure your Helix firmware is up to date.

  • Verify you’re using the recommended output settings (FRFR, amp, or PA system).

  • Minor EQ tweaks may be needed depending on your setup.

USING YOUR IMPULSE RESPONSES (IRs)

Q: HOW DO I INSTALL THE IRs INTO MY HELIX OR HX STOMP?

1. Unzip the downloaded IR pack.

2. Open the Helix or HX Edit software on your computer.

3. Navigate to the Impulse Response tab.

4. Drag and drop the .wav files into available IR slots.

5. Save your changes and assign the IRs to your presets as needed.

 

Q: WHAT FORMAT ARE THE IR FILES?

All IRs are provided as .wav files at 48kHz / 24-bit, fully compatible with all Line 6 Helix family devices, including HX Stomp and Helix Native.

Q: WHERE SHOULD I PLACE THE IR IN MY SIGNAL CHAIN?

Typically, IRs are placed after the amp block in your preset. If you’re using a real amp or cab, you may want to disable the IR or bypass the cab block.

Q: THE IR SOUNDS TOO LOUD OR TOO QUIET—WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Adjust the IR block level or use a gain/EQ block before or after the IR to fine-tune it. All IRs are normalized, but volume can still vary depending on amp and block gain structure.

Q: CAN I USE THESE IRs WITH OTHER HARDWARE OR PLUGINS?

Yes! These IRs work with any hardware or plugin that supports 48kHz / 24-bit .wav IR files, including:

• Fractal Audio

• Kemper (via Cab Maker conversion)

• Two Notes Torpedo

• STL/Nadir loaders

• Neural DSP

• DAWs like Logic, Reaper, Cubase, etc.
